The Chase fan favourite Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett shows off his 63.5kg weight loss

The Chase star, otherwise knows as “The Beast”, has shown off his whopping 63.5 kilogram weight loss in a cheeky new Instagram post.

The Chase’s Mark Labbett is showing off his staggering 63.5kg weight loss.

The star uploaded a dashing photo of himself on Instagram wearing a black suit and looking slimmer than ever.

Grinning at the camera, he wrote in the caption: “The next member of the Double O section?”

Labbett, 55, received praise from his fans after uploading the photo.

“Looking good now, any tips on how to lose weight?” wrote one follower.

Another wrote: “You look fabulous, Mark. Well done on your hard work in losing the pounds.”

Added another: “Well done Mark. So much negativity on social media at present, but brilliant work on the weight loss.”

Labbett spoke about his weight loss journey during his appearance on Loose Women in March, saying that he had dropped five trouser sizes mainly by cutting down on sugar and carbs.

“I’m not a drinker but sugar has always been my downfall. A good friend of mine who had the gastric band said it won’t do any good for me as I get all my calories by sugar, and it’s too easy to digest.”

He added: “I still have sugar but an awful lot less. I should have less still.

“I am gradually dropping Xs off my size. I’ve gone from 5XL to 4XL and it looks like the next time I go shopping I’ll be able to squeeze into XL underpants.

“I’ve lost 10 stone (63.5kg). I was 29 (184kg) stone when I was a full time teacher in 2003 and I was in danger of high blood pressure.

“I’ve been around 26 (165kg) stone up until lockdown, and then a few things happened quite nicely and came together and started losing weight.”

He continued: “The principle thing is running after a hyperactive toddler when nurseries have been shut.

“I’m sure every woman knows this, how do you keep up with them? I found at the end of the evening instead of going to the fridge for late night snacking, all I could do was collapse on the bed.”

The Chase said the “weight fell off” when he had Covid-like symptoms a year ago.

He said: “I’ve been lucky in that a year ago I had suspected Covid, I lost my sense of taste and I didn’t want to eat in these two weeks.

“Being a big guy like myself the weight falls off now. I don’t feel like eating as much so I eat less and lose more weight.”
