Supermodel Tyra Banks spotted eating ice-cream in surprise Sydney appearance

A famous US star was spotted out and about in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

American supermodel Tyra Banks was spotted enjoying an ice cream during a surprise visit to Sydney.

The 51-year-old former America’s Next Top Model host went incognito as she explored Darling Harbour.

Despite dressing down for the outing, Banks still looked every inch the superstar in her casual cargo pants and cropped sweater, which she accessorised with a black leather bag and slouchy grey beanie.

The Victoria’s Secret star was tucking into a double scoop waffle cone as she strutted around the promenade.

Her choice of dessert was very on-brand for Banks. In July, she brought her very own pop-up ice-cream shop called Smize and Dream to Washington, D.C. after previously serving the cities of Los Angeles, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

During the opening, where she helped serve customers, Banks told D.C. News Now that pop-up locations in Australia and Asia were on the way.

Therefore, her Darling Harbour ice-cream run could’ve been the star sampling the competition.

For those not familiar, the name Banks gave her shop is a nod to her time on ANTM on which she coined the term “smize”, which means to smile with your eyes – a useful skill in modelling.

Just two months ago, Banks was smizing and strutting her stuff down a different runway when she came out of retirement to walk the revamped Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The model had hung up her wings and gave up modelling in general in 2005, but she happily returned for the event to mark the lingerie giant’s first fashion show after a six-year hiatus amid backlash about exclusiveness and lack of body positivity.

For Banks – who wore balconette catsuit, bustier and metallic cape – it was a reunion of sorts with fellow OG Angels Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo, Jasmine Tookes and Alessandra Ambrosio also walking down the runway.

“My girl @alessandraambrosio, you are as beautiful, crazy, and fun as ever!” Banks captioned a photo of the pair at the time “It was such a JOY to reunite with you at the #VSFashionShow. We are OG, baby!”
