Spice Girls reunite for Geri’s 50th birthday
Candid photos show four out of five Spice Girls letting loose, as they marked the milestone birthday for the first group member to turn 50.
There’s been a (partial) Spice Girls reunion overnight, as four out of five members of the iconic ’90s pop group reunited for Geri Halliwell’s 50th birthday celebrations.
Fellow Spice Girls Victoria Beckham, Melanie C and Emma Bunton were all in attendance at Geri’s belated bash, which comes three months after her August 6 birthday.

As the eldest member of the group, Geri is the first Spice Girl to hit this milestone birthday.
It looks like it was a fun-filled, and at times sentimental affair, with candid videos on social media showing Geri, Emma and yes, even Victoria, hitting the dance floor together and singing along to the Spice Girls classic Say You’ll Be There.
Victoria famously bowed out of life as an active Spice Girl after the group’s 2012 London Olympics performance, leaving them to carry on as a four-piece for their 2019 reunion tour.
In another sweet clip shared to social media, a misty-eyed Victoria and Emma were seen tightly embracing as partygoers watched vintage Spice Girls footage.
Also in attendance were their respective partners: Geri’s husband Christian Horner, Victoria’s husband David Beckham and Emma’s husband Jade Jones (the pair wed last year after more than two decades together). Melanie C appeared to fly solo after recently splitting with her partner of seven years.
The only Spice Girl not in attendance was Scary Spice Melanie B – and those looking for a public birthday tribute to her bandmate would have been in for a shock if they checked her Instagram account.
As her bandmates partied, Mel B re-shared a photo from the Spice Girls’ official Instagram account showing the group without birthday girl Geri, to mark the anniversary of their only album after her departure, Forever.
A sly dig or an unfortunate coincidence? Who knows, but those worried about a Spice feud will be happy to know that Mel B did say in a new interview confirming her engagement to longtime hairdresser Rory McPhee that all her bandmates approved of her new fiance.
“Emma [Bunton] cried, so did Mel C. All of them were delighted for us and said, ‘We love Rory, he’s amazing,’ and they’ve all sent congratulations cards,” she told Hello.
“I do care about their opinion and it’s really special to me that they like Rory so much, because they’ve never liked any of my boyfriends and they’ve been quite clear about that,” she continued.
“They were actually pushing me towards Rory for ages before the two of us became romantic, but I’d say to them, ‘It’s not like that; he’s just a really good friend who makes me feel safe.’”

While Mel B and Melanie C both attended Victoria Beckham’s son Brooklyn’s wedding earlier this year, it’s been a while since we last had documented proof of all five Spice Girls being in the same room together.
The last publicly released photo of them all together came in 2018, when they assembled for a private meeting to discuss the next year’s reunion tour.
This four-piece reunion comes as they look set to hit the charts again this week, with the newly released 25th anniversary edition of their 1997 sophomore album Spiceworld.
