Shirtless Robert Irwin shows us exactly what went into his Bonds shoot

Robert Irwin’s fans are begging him to stop after he shared a behind-the-scenes look at how he prepared for his internet-breaking Bonds shoot.

Robert Irwin is keeping the thirst traps coming with a behind-the-scenes video showing us exactly what went into his now viral Bonds shoot.

The footage, shared to Instagram on Tuesday night, shows a very shirtless Irwin lifting weights and doing push-ups in a suburban front yard as the photoshoot crew mosey about in front of him.

He smiles and laughs and doesn’t appear to break a sweat as he drops and gives them 20.

Naturally, the post was immediately met with pleas of mercy from fans who are still recovering from seeing the 21-year-old posing with a giant snake in nothing but his jocks.

“Robert, stop we can’t take anymore,” one person begged.

A second said, “I shouldn’t like what I see right???” and another correctly noted that, “Millennials are deeply conflicted over this.”

A fan who was less conflicted simply said, “What a great day to have eyes.”

In a lengthy caption accompanying the video, the I’m A Celebrity host said he savoured the challenge of bulking up for the underwear shoot.

“Wellness and fitness have always been a big part of my life, and one of the things that got me excited to be part of my recent Bond’s shoot was that it gave me a real goal to strive toward,” he said.

“I wanted to feel my best to represent Australia!”

The wildlife warrior added that nutrition, kindness and discipline have been keys to his success, and went on to give a little advice to others looking to get into better shape.

“There isn’t one single formula to follow,” he said, “I reckon the most important thing is not to compare yourself to anyone else, just keep trying to be the best version of YOU.”

“Listen to your body, keep moving and improving. Treat your whole body, inside and out with kindness, focus on good nutrition and apply a healthy amount of discipline. It has done wonders for my mind, and given me that extra lightness in my step.”

Irwin, who was born into fame as the youngest child of late Steve Irwin and wife Terri, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the Australian media landscape over the past year, where he delighted viewers with his incredibly successful gig hosting I’m A Celebrity alongside Julia Morris.

He told People he had no hesitation stripping off for the Bonds campaign, adding that the decision to do it was “a pretty immediate yes.”

“I’m at this point in my life where I’m trying to do as many different and random exciting things, and if it’s something that makes me a little bit nervous, that I’ve never done before and it’s a bit of an adrenaline rush? That’s what I want to be doing,” he said.

His sexy campaign all but broke the internet when it came out last week and spawned countless funny reactions on social media.

“Robert I’m trying to be a lesbian over here,” one comment read.

“Not me looking at Steve’s son like this,” confessed another, while a third wrote, “Bro calm down my wife is on this app.”

Today host Sarah Abo was lost for words on-air when Irwin’s photos were shown on screen, remarking of Irwin’s “python”: “It is quite long, isn’t it?”
