Robert Irwin and his girlfriend, Rorie Buckley, have been spotted at Brisbane Airport after a whirlwind trip to Sydney where they made their glamorous debut.

The Wildlife Warrior and his new love were in the Harbour City to attend the Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One premiere at the city’s International Convention Centre, during which they made their first pubic appearance together as a couple.

The pair glammed it up in chic black ensembles as they walked the red carpet alongside the cast, including Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff.

Buckley is no stranger to the spotlight herself as she is the niece of late Aussie actor Heath Ledger – her mum, Kate Ledger, is the actor’s sister.

However, the new couple’s appearance at Brisbane Airport yesterday was more low-key as they rocked casual, comfortable clothing for the flight back to Irwin’s home state. Buckley currently resides in Perth with her family.

Irwin, 19, was seen wearing a relaxed Polo by Ralph Lauren jersey while Buckley, 18, wore a simple beige hoodie. The pair did bring back some treats from their mini-holiday: a large box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts they were seen toting in the terminal.

While the Mission: Impossible premiere marked their official public debut, the pair have been spotted several times earlier this year at airport terminals as they continue their long-distance relationship.

Back in May, it was Irwin’s turn to visit Buckley and she welcomed him with a hug when he landed in Perth. The pair have been linked since November last year but have already met each other’s families.

Like the Irwins, Buckley – who has a twin sister – is extremely close to her family and she has a special place in her heart for her famous late uncle.

“Heath is hugely important in the lives of my children,” her mother Kate told Who magazine in 2018.

“There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t share stories or talk about him. He is very much alive in our house.”

Irwin – who is also an avid photographer – certainly knows how to keep a loved one’s memory alive. Since he was a toddler, he has been honouring his late father, Steve Irwin, with his work at the family’s Australia Zoo wildlife conservation facility on the Sunshine Coast.

Last month, he shared a sweet throwback photo of his parents, Steve and Terri Irwin, to mark what would have been their 31st wedding anniversary.

“Happy wedding anniversary Mum and Dad. Forever my biggest inspirations,” he captioned the photo.
