Aussie singer and actress Natalie Imbruglia stripped down to a bikini to cool off in the Mediterranean heat while enjoying a yacht day with friends.

Natalie Imbruglia has been spotted on a luxury holiday in Italy, stripping down to a bikini as she cooled off in the ocean.

The Australian singer and actress, 48, wore a bold orange two-piece as she drank champagne and chatted with friends on a yacht in Portofino.

Imbruglia, who now lives in the UK with her four-year-old son, looked relaxed and happy as soaked up the Mediterranean sunshine.

The former Neighbours star and her friends were there in honour of singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti’s 40th birthday, with Imbruglia reposting a picture of the birthday boy earlier this week.

It came just days after Imbruglia celebrated her son Max’s fourth birthday, with the star sharing a rare photo with him on Instagram in honour of the occasion.

Imbruglia, who was previously married to Silverchair’s Daniel Johns from 2003 until 2008, welcomed her son in 2019 via IVF. She has never publicly disclosed his father’s identity.

However, she opened up about her long-held desire to be a mother in an interview with Stellar magazine in 2021, describing it as “the most incredible thing” that had ever happened to her.

“It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. It’s given me a sense of peace,” the Torn singer explained.

Imbruglia also spoke candidly to the UK’s Baby magazine about how the “magic” of motherhood.

“Looking back I had lovely friends, had been married, a beautiful home and a career that I was proud of,” she told the magazine.

“But I’d long been at the point where I knew something was missing and that thing became something I yearned for above anything else.”

In 2021, Imbruglia also opened up about her shock split from her first husband, appearing on Johns’ podcast to finally reveal why they called time on their marriage.

The former couple was interviewed for an episode of Who Is Daniel Johns?, reconnecting during the recorded session for “the first time in a while”.

They both explained that, with both working incredibly hard on their careers, they found themselves having to spend a lot of time apart.

“Oh, it was really, really hard, it’s a difficult time to talk about and to be honest, I just remember trying … just trying to get things back on track … and sometimes there isn’t a way through it and that’s where we found ourselves, I’m afraid,” Imbruglia told podcast host Kaitlin Sawrey.

“He was the love of my life and I think in time you realise that’s a really special thing and you look back on it fondly, and it doesn’t come around that often that you can both feel that way about each other … it’s not something that is necessarily repeatable in that way … it’s a beautiful thing.”

Johns admitted that the split was “probably the best thing that could have happened” as their lives began to move in different directions.

“She wanted to settle down and have babies and she wanted to do normal stuff and I just wanted to get weirder, so we just kind of disappeared from each other,” he said.

“She taught me how to be a man, you know … I met her when I was 19, at risk of sounding sentimental.”
