Star absolutely roasts fan after encounter
A seemingly innocent interaction between a US music star and a superfan has taken an ugly turn after the celebrity revealed her true thoughts online.
A seemingly sweet fan interaction with pop star Doja Cat has taken an ugly turn – with the singer publicly shaming the man on social media just days after their encounter.
Taking to X, the Grammy-winning artist claimed the fan – who had approached her in the street earlier this month – had crossed serious boundaries during the meeting.
“Don’t touch me and man handle me when you don’t even f**king know me. He didn’t even know my name, to be touching me and kissing me on my face is crazy,” she wrote bluntly.
“Bottom line is, I’ll smile at you but it doesn’t mean I f**k with you,” the singer added in the tweet, which she deleted shortly aftter.
The clip, which has over 3 million likes, shows LA local Pablo Tamayo approaching the singer and gifting her the shirt he’s wearing.
“I’m about to give my shirt to Doja Cat because she’s the icon "It" girl,” he says while the Say So singer smiles beside him.
The two then exchange names and share a series of hugs before the video ends with the pair jumping up and down excitedly.
Doja Cat followed up her since-deleted posts saying, “I threw that musty ass shirt away by the way.”
Viewers were divided, with some claiming the pop star looked “uncomfortable.”
“She’s low-key frightened,” said one.
“I can’t lie I feel like he overstepped the boundaries,” chimed in another.
Others saw nothing wrong with the interaction, branding Doja Cat “weird and fake.”
“This was so cute until I saw her tweet,” said one.
“Celebrities are so weird! How are you going to act like this and switch up?!,” questioned another.
“Seeing this now seems so upsetting,” said a third.
“I feel bad for this guy. What she said on Twitter was disgusting and hurtful,” echoed a fourth.
Pablo has since responded to the tweets saying, “It hurts because I loved her.”
“She was being so nice and pointed out my shirt so I gave her one,” he said.
“I understand if I was being too nice and I will take full accountability but I don’t even know what’s going on.”
“Maybe not everyone is who they portray in person,” he added.
The LA local has since gone one step further by posting a photo of his own Doja Cat merch with the caption, “I threw this musty ass shirt away.”
This isn’t the first time Doja Cat has been in hot water with her fans.
In 2022, the singer lost over 200,000 followers after calling her fans “crazy people” and refusing to say she loved them.
“My life, my rules, my style, my attitude,” she said at the time.
