MasterChef star Melissa Leong has shared a loved-up post on social media with her new boyfriend, ten months on from the announcement of her marriage breakdown.

The 39-year-old food writer turned TV personality posted two cosy black-and-white pictures which showed her lying on a bed with Rob Mason, with the caption: “This is us.”

Just hours earlier, she had posted a solo black-and-white picture of Mason, writing alongside it: “Luckiest girl in the world.”

Leong first debuted her new boyfriend on social media early last month with a gushing tribute.

Posting a photo of the tattooed father-of-three, who founded the hair care brand Morris Motley, Leong said Mason was the “best part of my day”.

“Gratuitous hot dad post, a day late,” Leong wrote, referencing Father’s Day.

“Creator of world class cosmetics and the brains behind @morrismotley, brilliant father to a legendary babe squad and the best part of my day, nothing but love.”

Leong announced she and husband Joe Jones had split after almost four years of marriage in late December last year.

She made the shock pre-Christmas news via her Instagram page, telling fans that “the time has come” for her and her bar owner husband to part ways.

“It has brought us such happiness to walk together, but the time has come for Joe and I to part ways and walk on, apart,” she wrote, alongside a picture of the pair on their wedding day at the Joshua Tree in California.

“We ask for your kindness and consideration for our privacy, we will not be making any further comment as our private lives have, and will always remain exactly that. We wish you peace at the end of such a challenging year for all.”

Leong had gushed about her relationship with Jones in a June 2020 interview with TV Week, explaining that they were engaged after dating for just three months, and married two months later.

“When you know you know,” she said at the time. “Everything’s so good as it is – I’m really happy.”

Leong became MasterChef’s standout star last year when a complete hosting reshuffle revitalised the cooking show after more than a decade on air.

Viewers were hooked, dubbing her “the best thing to happen to prime time television in 2020”.
