Lindsay Lohan’s remarkable transformation explained

Experts say it’s very unlikely Lindsay Lohan’s remarkable transformation is just down to healthy lifestyle choices.

What’s her little secret?

Lindsay Lohan dressed to impress on her recent press tour for her new Netflix holiday rom-com, Our Little Secret, but it’s not just her clothes that are grabbing the public’s attention.

The beloved movie star — who has had her fair share of highs and lows over the years — appears to have gone through both an internal and external transformation.

Although Lohan, 38, claims she fights ageing with a simple skincare routine, Page Six pooled cosmetic surgery experts — none of who treated the “Mean Girls” star — for their take on her impressive glow-up.

Jeune Aesthetics founder Pamela Weinberger tells us that Lohan likely had a mixture of injectables like Botox, a brow lift, lip and cheek filler, as well as surgical procedures like an upper blepharoplasty, an endoscopic facelift, and submental liposuction, which removes fat from the neck and chin.

“Some results can be achieved with skilled injectors, but for transformations this striking, surgical enhancements seem likely,” the Miami-based medical injector says.

“However, the secret sauce here is balance: skilled injectors and surgeons working together for a ‘natural-but-better’ look.”

Weinberger adds, “The best work should look invisible. The magic is in how far technology and artistry have come.”

Renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Ramtin Kassir agrees that Lohan likely went under the knife, noting upper and lower blepharoplasty, deep-plane face and neck lift as possible procedures she had done.

The New York-based nose job expert does not think the “Freaky Friday” star had any rhinoplasty done, though, and actually thinks the star may have reversed some of the bad procedures she had in the past.

“I think she’s dissolved whatever she had before,” Kassir says, adding that weight loss was likely also a contributing factor to Lohan’s changed appearance.

“Her face is definitely not as what we call ‘pillow faced’ or full. That could be because she either lost weight, had the filler dissolved or had it washed out during surgery,” he explains.

Dr. Ari Hoschander of KH Plastic Surgery in New York City agrees, “The main reason I believe she looks better is because she lost weight.”

“She did not have a facelift of any type. I believe she just lost a bit of weight,” the board-certified plastic surgeon says.

Weinberger shares that fans looking to achieve a youthful appearance like Lohan should follow the “holy trinity” of glow-ups: eating clean, vitamins, and probably some peptides and NAD.

“Start with a healthy lifestyle,” she says before joking that it’s “yes, boring” but “essential.”

All of our experts also point out that Lohan’s face looks much smoother, which was likely achieved by doing skin treatments like resurfacing lasers, chemical peels and micro-needling.

Hoschander tells us, “At most, she did some lasers for the colour and texture of her skin on her face — maybe a touch of filler but certainly not a lot.”

People on social media have also widely speculated whether the Parent Trap star has had a facelift.

Although most of our experts don’t think Lohan has had one yet, Dr. Samuel Lin explains why being under 40 doesn’t necessarily rule a patient out as a candidate.

“Anatomy matters more than age when it comes to facelifts. There isn’t a specific ‘right’ age for the procedure, as it depends on individual anatomy and genetics,” the board certified plastic surgeon says.

“While some candidates in their late 40s may be ready for a facelift, others might not experience sufficient skin laxity until their 50s or later.”

Lin further explains that factors like “age, genetics, and lifestyle create a range of timelines for when a facelift may be beneficial.”

He concludes, “Ultimately, your anatomy is the key consideration, not your age.”
