WE know that Kanye West never smiles, but this sad selfie from the Super Bowl is just depressing. And unfortunately for the surly rapper, it’s gone berserk on the internet.

The surly rapper and his wife Kim Kardashian were front and centre at the 2015 Super Bowl yesterday, lapping it up in a luxury suite when a couple of fans who happened to be next door discovered who their famous neighbours were.

The excited duo asked for a quick snap with Yeezy, to which he obliged. Mate, you shouldn’t have. But seriously.

At least the rejected fan could see the funny side of it, posting the glum selfie on Instagram along with the caption: “Kanye loves the Hawks and being bothered.”

Seahawks fans Ben Pitasky has already got bulk likes for this selfie.

The duo shouldn’t take it too personally. Moments after the selfie started doing the rounds on social media, another fan uploaded this shot from the same private box. Kim’s busy on her phone, while Kanye is giving his best “don’t make me come over there” face.

Both Kim and Kanye look truly stoked to be at the Super Bowl.

And it seems not even the pair’s double date at a waffle house over the weekend with one of the world’s hottest couples, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, can break Kanye’s miserable pout. Tough crowd.

Just last week, West revealed the real reason he doesn’t show us his pearly whites, explaining he came across a book from the 1800s working on Yeezus.

“I looked at all these people’s photos and they look so real and their outfits were incredible and they weren’t smiling and people, you know the paparazzi, always come up to me, ‘Why you not smiling?’ and I think, not smiling makes me smile …

“When you see paintings in an old castle, people are not smiling cause it just wouldn’t look as cool.”

So there you have it. Smiling just isn’t cool, according to Yeezy.
