Hollywood movie star Charlize Theron has been spotted touching down in Sydney.
The Oscar-winning actress, 49, went incognito upon her arrival in Australia Sunday morning, wearing a pair of sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat as she walked through the international terminal.
Theron, one of showbiz’s highest paid actresses, is here to start shooting the upcoming Netflix film Apex alongside Welsh actor Taron Egerton, who was also seen arriving in Sydney.
Little is known about the film, which is being directed by Baltasar Kormákur from a script written by Jeremy Robbins.
Per Deadline, Apex has been described as “Free Solo meets Silence of the Lambs”, following a rock climber being hunted in the wild.
Theron has also signed on as a co-producer.
Australia is a celebrity-haven at the moment, with many stars spotted at the Australian Open at the weekend.
Liam Hemsworth, Jackie Chan, Deborra-lee Furness, Eric Bana and Phoebe Dynevor have been among the high-profile attendees.
Meanwhile, Paul Rudd and Jack Black are both on the Gold Coast filming their upcoming adventure film Anaconda.
More Coverage
Anaconda is estimated to be providing more than 300 jobs to locals, injecting around $40 million into the economy. Filmmaker Tom Gormican is directing the feature from a script he co-wrote with Kevin Etten.
Plot details for the movie, a reimagining of the 1997 adventure film, have been kept firmly under wraps.
While the original Anaconda was largely panned among critics upon its release, it proved a box office success, grossing $US136.8 million against a $US45 million budget, later going on to achieve cult status.
