The former One Direction star debuted a new hairstyle over the weekend months after receiving backlash for his previous haircut.

British singer Harry Styles has debuted a new hairstyle over the weekend while attending a soccer game in the UK.

The former One Direction star rocked a clean cut as he watched Luton Town take on Manchester United at Kenilworth Road stadium in Bedfordshire.

As he watched on from the stands, the 30-year-old was not wearing either of the teams’ colours, instead wearing his signature knitted sweater under his dark coat. But all eyes were on his new ’do.

Styles’ new hair featured short sides with a bit of volume on top – a shorter version of his trademark long strands, but certainly longer than the buzz cut he sported late last year.

Last November, the Watermelon Sugar singer debuted a buzz cut when he rocked out at U2’s concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas with his rumoured girlfriend, Bones and All actress and Taylor Russell.

He also sported the same shaved head at a London party celebrating his beauty and lifestyle label Pleasing, but the ‘do was proving unfavourable with fans.

“Stick that hair back onto his head,” one commented on Twitter, while another wrote, “A moment of silence for Harry’s curls.”

The backlash over his choice of hairstyle kept coming, forcing his mum, Anne Twist, to defend the star on social media.

“When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are … there’s an irony in the negativity he’s been shown for having a haircut,” Anne wrote at the time. “Sorry but I don’t get it.”

Fans cheered on Anne for taking a stance against the trolls.

“Thanks for speaking out!!! People call themselves fans but are so disrespectful and unkind. A haircut does not change a person,” one tweeted.

Another supporter commented, “It’s actually insane how many people have chalked up his hair and personality to his hair. Your son is such a beautifully vibrant and kind soul.”
