Gogglebox star Jad Nehmetallah marries in lavish Sydney ceremony
A popular Aussie TV star has married his fiancee in a lavish ceremony in Sydney just seven months after getting engaged.
Gogglebox Australia star Jad Nehmetallah has married his fiancee Sarah in a lavish ceremony in Sydney over the weekend.
The reality TV favourite and his bride made it official as they exchanged vows at St Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday, just seven months after he proposed in Italy last July.
After a traditional ceremony inside the iconic cathedral, the couple kicked off the wedding extravaganza outside on the steps of the forecourt, dancing with their beloved family and friends to the beat of some lively drums.
Despite wearing a strapless, rhinestone-encrusted ballgown from Steven Khalil complete with voluminous skirt, Sarah didn’t let it stop her from showing off her dances moves with her new groom.
It was the same vibe at the reception believed to be at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay when the newlyweds were hoisted onto the shoulders of guests as they cheered them on inside the venue once formalities were done and dusted.
The reception was decked out in lavish table settings consisting of candles and flowers, while a caviar station and open bar was on hand for guests to enjoy as was a massive raspberry and cream-topped wedding cake.
Jad and Sarah first announced their engagement in July one year after meeting through mutual friends.
The reality star got down on bended knee at sunset at the picturesque Castle Elvira in Puglia, Italy, as a cellist played romantic tunes in the background.
“Today was magical, a true fairy tale. God has blessed me with a real life angel. Sarah, you are the epitome of a woman,” he wrote on Instagram as he announced the happy news.
“Beautiful, soft, caring, loving, smart, supportive and funny. You make me feel like a King. Today, we stand together on this rooftop, as you’ve said YES to becoming my Queen. I love you and I can’t wait for us to do life together.”
In a separate statement, he also couldn’t help but gush about his future wife.
“From the minute I met Sarah, I knew she was the one. We bring out the best in each other, and I can’t picture my life without her,” he said at the time.
Jad’s fellow Gogglebox couch critic and best friend Matty Fahd was among the first to congratulate him on his engagement news.
“I finally get to hand you over. Today is a good day for my fridge,” Matty joked, before adding, “Congratulations to you both, may your love be everlasting. I’m so happy you found each other. I love you both.”
Their Gogglebox castmate Isabelle Silbery also sent her well wishes.
“So happy you found your queen,” she gushed.
