Actor Chris Evans continues to surprise fans with his social media posts, however this time it wasn’t an accidental nude that sent his fans into a spin.

The 39-year-old Captain America star uploaded a video to his 6.6 million followers doing an impressive backflip into his freezing cold pool.

“Last swim before the pool hibernates …” he wrote, noting that the water “was freezing.”

However, it wasn’t his backflip skills that got fans’ attention. It was his tattoo covered abdomen.

“ … I wonder what it’s like to be tan,” the actor joked.

Fans were quick to jump onto Twitter to reveal how shocked they were over his inked up body.

Other fans were marvelling at the star’s muscles.

In an interview with Maude Garrett in 2014 for The Hot Hits Live From LA, Evans expressed his love-hate relationship with tattoos.

“I really like tattoos but the problem is, when you wear a short-sleeve shirt in a movie, that’s an extra hour in the makeup chair. So, it’s not worth it,” he said. “I’m all for tattoos, but just somewhere they can be hidden.”

Robert Downey Jr. once also revealed that he, Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner all got matching tattoos.

“Five of the original six Avengers got a tattoo,” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2018. “And the sixth was the tattoo artist, who gave it to five of us, the one who opted out being Mark Ruffalo.

“It was (Scarlett) Johansson’s idea, and she and (Chris) Evans did it in New York. Then, their New York guy, Josh Lord, who is amazing, flew out to LA, he did me, did (Jeremy) Renner, and then we just bullied (Chris) Hemsworth into doing it, and he got it. And each one of us drew a line on the artist with his own tattoo gun and it was a total massacre.”

The tattoo reveal comes after the actor had an embarrassing nude photo leak in September.

The actor had accidentally posted a photo of his own penis to Instagram.

Evans quickly deleted the story but not before screenshots started doing the rounds on social media, quickly becoming the number one trending topic on Twitter.

Another photo showed a picture of the star’s face with the text, “guard that p****y”.

His Avengers co-star Mark Ruffalo tweeted, “@ChrisEvans. Bro, while Trump is in office there is NOTHING you could possibly do to embarrass yourself. See … silver lining.”

Days later, the star addressed the blunder with a cheeky Twitter post.

A few days later, the star appeared for his first live TV interview on a US talk show, where host Tamron Hall grilled him over the leak.

“Chris Evans – you were trending over the weekend. You said, ‘Now that I have your attention, vote.’ What happened, Chris?” she asked.

“Did something happen this weekend?” he shot back, clearly uncomfortable.

“Chris, you’ve used this event to get our eyes on something that is more important?” she continued.

“Sure. That’s called turning a frown upside down, Tamron. Look it was … an interesting weekend, full of lessons learned, a lot of teachable moments. You know. Things happen, it’s embarrassing, you gotta roll with the punches. I will say I have some pretty fantastic fans who really came to my support,” he said.
