Eye-watering deal behind Kardashians’ goth-glam wedding theme

The Kardashians certainly made a bold statement with their style choices as they watched Kourtney tie the knot – and there’s a good reason why.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker wed in lavish Italian ceremony

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s wedding was sponsored by Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, it’s been revealed.

It will come as no big surprise to fans who have been eagerly watching the weekend wedding extravaganza unfold in the Italian coastal town of Portofino, with members of the Kardashian family exclusively stepping out in pieces from the label’s iconic range.

There was clearly a glamorous and gothic inspiration to the lavish nuptials – and everyone stayed right on theme.

Kourtney herself wore a one-of-a-kind Dolce & Gabbana lace and satin corset mini-dress, accompanied by a luxurious veil, which had a depiction of the Virgin Mary as well as flowers hand-embroidered onto it.

Tulle gloves and lace pumps completed the look, while her new husband’s double-breasted black suit was another Dolce & Gabbana creation.

Wedding collaboration worth millions

Kourtney and Travis not only chose the Italian fashion house to design their outfits for their big day, but also had luxury speedboats ferrying guests from the hotels to Portofino harbour furnished with iconic D&G accessorises, including brightly printed cushions.

According to the Daily Mail, the company has been closely involved in planning for the lavish wedding, while staff from the Milan headquarters were even deployed to the town recently to help with logistics.

The collaboration between D&G and the Kardashians is said to be worth millions and millions of dollars in free publicity.

In order to capitalise on the expected flow of public interest, the designer label established a pop-up shop earlier this week on the market square piazza beside Portofino harbour.

“The opening of the shop is entirely due to the wedding,” an insider told Daily Mail.

The Kardashians have certainly held up their end of the bargain during their Italian trip, sharing plenty of pictures of their Dolce & Gabbana outfits to their huge Instagram fanbase.

Kourtney and Travis had lots of practice before their Italian affair. They originally “wed” in a fake Las Vegas wedding back in April. After the internet went abuzz with their spontaneous nuptials, Page Six exclusively confirmed the ceremony was just for fun, as they hadn’t obtained a marriage license.

The couple then legally married at the downtown courthouse in Santa Barbara on May 15. Kourtney’s grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell, and Travis’ father, Randy Barker, were present for the nuptials.

For the second ceremony, the reality star wore another short white Dolce & Gabbana dress, while the rocker was in an all-black suit.

“Til death do us part,” she captioned black-and-white photos of the low-key day.

After being friends for over a decade, Travis proposed to Kourtney at Montecito’s Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel in October 2021 following one year of dating.
