Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon arrive in Sydney

Hollywood icons and close friends Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon were spotted stepping off a flight together in Sydney.

Hollywood stars Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth were spotted flying into Sydney on Monday.

The two pals arrived into the city with Damon’s wife, Luciana and Hemsworth’s personal trainer, Luke Zocchi and his brother-in-law, Christian Prieto.

Hemsworth and Damon have been close pals for years, so close in fact that they recently got tattoos together.

The pair were spotted saying their goodbyes at the airport before going their separate ways in different vehicles.

It comes after Damon recently told news.com.au that he regularly visits Australia for a heartwarming reason.

“After my dad died, we moved down there for four months and just went and camped all over the place,” Damon, 53, said.

“And just … I think because maybe he had never been, and it just felt like a place to go to make memories with my kids.

“Then every year we would return, even back during the pandemic. We were down there for about six months, and it’s just like a second home to us.

“We just love it and we love the people and everything about it.”

In fact, the Hollywood star loves Australia so much that he’s regularly choosing to enjoy winter Down Under rather than Summer in the US.

“We just have so many friends there. I’m coming back [this week] right after we open this movie. We’re going down for a couple weeks,” he said.

“I mean, we’ve gone the last three summers, our summer, your winter, and everyone’s like, ‘You’re going to Australia? It’s the winter there?’ And we’re like, ‘no, it’s great’.

“We just have so many friends down there, honestly. I mean 30, 40 people. Family, friends, just so many people that we love to go see.”

In a previous interview, Hemsworth’s wife, Ella Pataky spoke fondly of Hemsworth and Damon’s relationship.

“Chris has been a big fan of Matt Damon, me too, and then when I met his wife I’m even more of a fan of his wife.

“They are such amazing people. We have three kids, they have four kids, so we ended up making the same plans because everything we do we do with our kids, so it’s easier to do things with people that understand you.”
