Australian TV journalist Liz Hayes has wowed with an incredibly glamorous look at a Sydney event this week.

Looking very different from her early days reporting for the network, Hayes, 67, slipped into an elegant, cream-coloured off-the-shoulder gown for Nine’s ‘Upfronts’ event in Sydney on Wednesday.

The Under Investigation host, who has been with Channel 9 since the early ‘80s, styled her hair in loose waves and sported a soft smoky-eye make-up look.

Having celebrated 40 years with Nine in 2021, Hayes’ styling evolution has played out on screens.

Viewers would no doubt remember Hayes’ signature layered bob hairstyle, which she rocked on-air for years.

The presenter is best known for her work with current affairs program 60 Minutes, which she joined in 1996. Prior to that, Hayes co-hosted Today with Steve Liebmann for a decade from 1986.

Among the highlight announcements was Tracy Grimshaw’s scheduled return to TV for a top-secret “new project” next year.

Elsewhere, Nine officially confirmed an Australian version of game show Tipping Point would be hitting screens, replacing Millionaire Hot Seat in the 5pm timeslot after the latter was officially axed in early August. Former Australian tennis player Todd Woodbridge will host the show, based off the popular UK format which currently airs at 3pm.

There were also some fresh reality TV offerings among the line-up, with gardening show, The Garden Hustle and property series Listing Melbourne coming to screens soon.

Despite recent rumours Scott Cam would be leaving The Blockafter this year, it was announced the long-running host would be back for his 18th season in 2024.
