Ensuring there’s enough seating and floor space in case the games get active. Sequencing the games correctly to match the emotions of the night. Maybe kick off with Taboo before moving onto Twister. End with Pictionary.

And where do you even source an easel and giant note pad? Can you just rent them? You don’t want to commit to purchasing an easel and then be left with it junking up your living room — leaning against your Danish-look sideboard that you nabbed off a median strip during a council pick-up.

And the pressure of curating the right mix of people is extraordinary.

Kate Hudson knows all of this. Of course she does. She grew up in the 80s and 90s with Goldie Hawn as a mother. You can only imagine the kind of game nights Goldie threw.

And while Kate, with all her groovy 70s California vibes, may be struggling to put out a decent film since Raising Helen, she certainly doesn’t fail at hosting a top-notch game night.

Straight from teaching a children’s dance class in Los Angeles on Saturday, Britney Spears popped by to join in the fun.

“That moment when @britneyspears shows up to your game night and your all like #itsbritneybitch,” Kate captioned a pic on Instagram, with a series of “dancing man” and “surprised eyes” emojis.

And Britney was equally thrilled to be included.

“Two blondes ... Too much fun. Loved hanging with you last night @katehudson!” Britney captioned her own snap of the pair.

Britney’s invite to Kate’s game night is proof their newly formed friendship is strong. And it’s filled with possibilities. We can only imagine the advice Britney’s giving Kate about her latest fling with that Jonas brother.
