Bridgerton stars confirm real-life romance
Two stars on the latest season of Bridgerton have been spotted engaging in PDA, officially confirming their real-life romance.
An off-screen romance has emerged between two of Bridgerton’s season three stars.
The Netflix show’s very own Bessie Carter and Sam Phillips — who portray Prudence Featherington and Lord Debling, respectively — were caught canoodling while out together on Saturday in Sussex, UK, E! News reports.
In photos taken of the duo, UK actress Carter is seen kissing Phillips’ shoulder and seemingly whispering into his ear.
The two have reportedly been linked before last weekend, as they were photographed together on the red carpet at A Little Life’s premiere in March 2023, per Just Jared.
In late November 2023, they attended the premiere of Wonka, in which Carter’s father Jim Carter starred as Abacus Crunch. Her mother, Imelda Staunton, was also present.
The following month, all four stars attended the finale celebration of The Crown, as Staunton played Queen Elizabeth II in Seasons 5 and 6.
Carter and Phillips also posed together at the Bridgerton Season 3 world premiere, along with co-stars Ruth Gemmell and Lorraine Ashbourne.
In a behind the scenes photo dump on her Instagram, Carter shared a picture of Phillips as Lord Debling on set.
The series has remained steamy this season, with Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton even accidentally breaking a piece of furniture while shooting a sex scene. Season 4 was renewed back in 2022, and showrunner Jess Brownell teased to Decider that they “will work as quickly as humanly possible to deliver,” but that she “wish[es she] could make it come sooner.”
“We are always hoping to get to fans sooner, but I don’t know if it’s possible,” she explained. “This show, every episode is like producing a feature film. It is so involved with so many characters. There are so many plot lines that we are trying to break and weave that it just takes longer to write and to produce than any other show I’ve heard of.”
Bridgerton Seasons 1-3 are now streaming on Netflix.
