Aussie radio star Woody Whitelaw marries partner Mimi Gibbs in stunning countryside ceremony
A beloved KIIS FM radio host has married his long-time love in a stunning countryside ceremony in Victoria.
Aussie radio star Woody Whitelaw has married his long-time love Mimi Gibbs in a stunning ceremony in Victoria over the weekend.
The co-host of the KIIS Network’s Will & Woody national drive show exchanged vows with the Melbourne artist at the picturesque Euroa Butter Factory in front of friends and family including their two-year-old daughter Remi, who walked down the aisle before greeting her dad with a big hug.
Whitelaw’s co-host Will McMahon was of course front row and centre as he fulfilled groomsman duties at the Saturday wedding, which was planned in less than four months with the help of a style team consisting of event stylist Cloth and Confetti and florist Brother Studio.
Gibbs was stunning in a white floor-length, one-shoulder gown complete with side split which was designed by Oglia Loro Couture, while the radio star kept it classic with a black tuxedo from Politix.
The bride then opted for a shorter dress for the reception, wearing a flirty mini-dress by Elissa Marie Design, who also designed the mismatched black bridesmaid dresses.
In a video KIIS FM made last week in tribute to the couple, Whitelaw could be seen getting emotional as the big day approached.
“I feel like the luckiest person in the world getting to marry Mim because she is truly the most amazing person I’ve ever come into contact with,” he said in the footage shared on the show’s official Instagram.
“She’s always putting others before herself. She’s just so much fun. At all times, she just makes any situation very silly and very childish. I just can’t believe I will be calling her my wife, and I get to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Gibbs also appeared in the clip where she too got emotional about the next chapter in their lives.
“I love him so much and I just am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him and loving him for an eternity,” she said on camera.
The wedding comes two years after the radio host proposed to Gibbs in their backyard, surprising her with a diamond ring as she lounged on a sun-bed.
“Are you proposing?’ a shocked Mimi asked at the time.
“I was just wondering if maybe you’d like to marry me,” he replied, before she quickly said, “Yes.”
The artist then shared a photos of the special moment on Instagram, which she captioned, “Stuck with me forever #yesplease.”
