Aussie actor Ben Mendelsohn appears dishevelled on streets of London

Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn has raised eyebrows during a bizarre public outing in London.
The Melbourne-born star alarmed onlookers with his unkempt appearance and erratic behaviour on his day out, during which he wore a T-shirt with the slogan “No excuses. It was my fault” scrawled on the front.
At one point, the 54-year-old appeared to have mucus trickling out of his nose.
His strange behaviour continued when he stopped on a footpath and began directing random members of the public on their bikes before pulling out a cigarette and sitting by an entrance of an empty shopfront.
During the outing, Mendelsohn was recognised by fans, who stopped him for autographs and selfies, of which he happily obliged while chatting to the admirers.
Mendelsohn is best known for his roles in the Hollywood blockbusters such as The Dark Knight Rises, Captain Marvel and Ready Player One.
He has also starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, portraying Orson Krennic, and voiced the character in the Disney animation, Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
But with his success came hardship, with the actor telling the Herald Sun in 2018 that he was forced to work odd jobs to pay the bills.
The actor revealed he washed dishes in a Bondi restaurant in Sydney and also worked at a bakery during a career slump.
“It’s been extraordinary. But that’s what has been very sweet about it – you don’t expect that in this business,” he told the outlet while reflecting on his new-found fame and fortune.
“I still drive around and look back on a lot of years where things were leaner. I am still happily spun out by it.”
