Glam rocker and former American Idol star Adam Lambert debuted a brand new look on US television yesterday, having recently undergone a drastic transformation.
Lambert, 42, stepped out in a bold blue suit looking considerably slimmer than fans are used to seeing him.
Page Six reports that Lambert told fans on social media recently that his total weight loss has been almost 60 pounds, or 27kg.
“I’ve lost almost 60 pounds,” the told fans. “I feel amazing. I still eat, but I eat lighter, and I eat less.”
The singer and sometime Queen frontman appeared on the US Today Show to talk about his upcoming Broadway debut, playing the emcee in Cabaret. He’s taking over the role from Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne.
“It was definitely on a shortlist of parts I’ve always wanted to play, mainly because he’s weird, he’s wild and wonderful,” he told the hosts.
Lambert struggled with his weight when he was younger, and revealed in a 2009 interview that he weighed more than 110kg in high school.
“That creates some stuff … some body image stuff, some confidence issues,” he said.

“I love LA and can’t imagine not being there,” he told news.com.au earlier this year. “But believe me, every time I’m in Sydney the thought [of moving] crosses my mind.”
Lambert is one of a number of music stars who’ve dramatically slimmed down in recent months, among them Lizzo, Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson.
