Actress Drea De Matteo has announced she’s joined OnlyFans

An actress who was huge in the 90s and even snagged an Emmy Award for her work has announced she’s joined OnlyFans.

'Not too much to ask': Adult content should not be 'directly marketed' to children

Actress Drea De Matteo has announced she’s the latest celebrity to join the subscription platform OnlyFans.

De Matteo, 51, is known for her roles in critically acclaimed television series’ The Sopranos and Sons of Anarchy.

She famously scored an Emmy award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama in 2004 for her role as Adriana La Cerva in The Sopranos.

The actress also has half a million followers on Instagram, and to promote her new move, she simply posted an Instagram story.

“OnlyFans is live now,” she wrote.

Fans now can pay $15 a month to secure exclusive content from De Matteo.

Her profile photo on the OnlyFans is just her almost naked, posing on a bed, wearing nothing but animal print boots and smoking a cigarette.

The move is pretty surprising considering De Matteo is known for being private, and there isn’t much known about her personal life besides the fact she’s the mother of two children and lives in New York.

The working actor has previously revealed that while her role on The Sopranos is often seen as iconic, she didn’t bring in the big bucks because of it.

She shockingly made $US500 ($A645) per episode in her first year on the HBO hit.

“I never really made an intense amount of money,” the actress recently told Page Six.

It wasn’t until her character became recurring that De Matteo saw a pay increase, but it still wasn’t huge money.

“Then I made a couple of thousand, and then probably by the end is when I started making series quotes, but that money came and went immediately.

“I didn’t spend enough time on the show to really make money,” she said.

Matteo isn’t the first celebrity to embrace the platform and offer fans exclusive and sometimes X-rated content.

Charlie Sheen and Denise Richard’s eldest daughter, Sam Sheen has started a successful OnlyFans account.

Sam’s actions actually inspired her mum, because now Denise has her own OnlyFans.

Former Disney star Bella Thorne is also among the famous faces on OnlyFans, along with rapper Cardi B who is rumoured to make millions monthly from the lucrative gig.
