A former One Direction member has landed in Melbourne
A huge star from one of the biggest bands of all time has been spotted quietly entering Australia.
Former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson has landed in Melbourne for his solo Australian tour.
Tomlinson, 32, was seen behaving like a classic celebrity who doesn’t want to be noticed, so he decided to wear sunglasses indoors, which is very noticeable behaviour.
To be fair the star was met with paparazzi, so all those flashing lights likely aren’t good for the precious eyeballs.
The British star kept things casual in baggy pants, a graphic T-shirt, a hat and sunglasses, just your classic famous man attire.
Not so casually, he was flanked by an impressive looking entourage.
The outfit was also a firm reminder that everyone is now starting to dress like Avril did in the early 2000s, which is something we will all need to learn to accept.
He was looking casual and comfortable but still the opposite of low-key. Basically, any man wearing fun pants is either a celebrity or an influencer these days.
Tomlinson is set to the hit stages at some of Australia’s most iconic venues and will be performing at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
Tomlinson last toured Australia alongside his former bandmates One Direction in 2014, and the band broke up in 2015.
He recently told The Times that he didn’t want the boyband to break up, and when things dissolved, he was left feeling “mortified”.
“When One Direction split up, I was mortified, I was absolutely gutted,” he said.
Tomlinson explained at the time. It left him feeling “bitter”, but he doesn’t feel the same way anymore.
“I was a bit bitter, I suppose because it just felt like another loss to me. But I have a better understanding of things now, and there’s not as much anger. It is what it is,” he admitted
When the band called it quits they were biggest boy band in the world and there was crazy mania surrounding them.
For instance the boys, Harry Styles, Nail Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, were barely able to leave their hotels while touring without being mobbed by adoring fans.
Often it can be hard for bandmates to find their own solo voice once they leave a band with such frenzy around them but Tomlinson’s managed to pull it off.
Tomlinson’s gone on to release two solo albums, Walls in 2020 and Faith In The Future, which dropped in 2022.
Both albums have received a fair amount of success, and his career is building up rather than winding down. His first album snagged the fourth spot on the UK Album chart, but his second album peaked at number one on the UK Album chart.
