‘We don’t have to follow the rules’: Beckhams sit front row at Victoria Beckham’s London Fashion Week show
She’s known for her sleek and sophisticated designs. And Victoria Beckham drew praise for her London Fashion Week show, with her daughter Harper wearing a custom design.
Victoria Beckham’s daughter Harper wore her first-ever couture dress to her mother’s London fashion week runway show, held at a historic venue and themed around “a gentle rebellion”.
Harper, 8, almost stole the spotlight in a custom-made, floral frock designed by her mother, and sitting on her father David Beckham’s lap.
Her brothers Cruz and Romeo – who were both dressed in Dior – were also in the front row, though older brother Brooklyn Beckham was noticeably absent.
The famous family had prime position for Victoria Beckham’s show at Banqueting House in Whitehall, flanked by US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and British Vogue’s Edward Enninful.

ZIMMERMANN RULES NEW YORK FASHION WEEK
The latest range from Posh’s eponymous fashion line was sophisticated yet wearable, with the designer teasing that she was not “following the rules” and instead presenting a “gentle rebellion” with her collection.
“I wanted to explore how to honour tradition but challenge convention. To be subversive yet sophisticated,” Beckham said in her pre-show notes.
“The collection is about staying true to ourselves and our woman, but still surprising her, and us. Twisting our codes,” she added. “This is what I call my gentle rebellion”.
The catwalk featured black dresses worn with platform boots, a checked culotte skirt teamed with a canary-yellow sweater, and a turtleneck dress without-outs.
Of course, there were was a lot of black, too, which was particularly fitting for a rainy Sunday morning in London.
“Colour is always key for me, so to start the show with eight or nine strong black looks was quite a statement for me,” Beckham told Vogue.
“You know I’ve worn so many miniskirts and little dresses in the past,” Beckham added, of the line’s oversized silhouette.
“How do I do that in what feels like a new, fresh way?”
In one of the hot-ticket shows at LFW, Posh said her autumn/winter 2020/21 collection came from “thinking about the tension between refinement and rebellion”.
“I was inspired by different women’s ideas of women — different characters, different moments and different attitudes — but with no restrictions.”
Models walked on a reflective floor within Banqueting House to a soundtrack including Strange by Celeste, in a room lit by chandeliers and featuring a ceiling painted by Rubens in 1636.
After years showing her line in New York, the former Spice Girl returned to London Fashion Week in 2018 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of her brand and her first show in the British capital.
Posh has since gone into cosmetics with Victoria Beckham Beauty, teaming up with Sarah Creal, a former Estee Lauder executive, who she met during her collaboration with the makeup brand.
