Shakira reveals the name of her second child

SHAKIRA has welcomed her second baby with Spanish footballer Gerald Pique and gets one step closer to her ultimate dream.

SHAKIRA’S brood continues to grow.

Shakira has welcomed her second son with long time love Gerard Pique overnight in Barcelona.

She announced the arrive of her son on her personal website giving insight into the his name.

“We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54pm, in Barcelona”.

“The name Sasha is of Greek and Russian descent and means “defender of mankind” and “warrior”.

The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health.

The gorgeous couple have already proved their fine baby making skills with their first son Milan, 2.

Now with this news, Shakira can actually start to live out her dream that she has had since she first became a mum. The singer told Latina magazine in April 2014,

“If it weren’t because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already. I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard — my own fútbol team”.

Since becoming a mother, Shakira has not slowed down on her creative ventures, but notes things are “different.”

“Maybe the biggest change is that I think about the future more, what the world will be like for him when he grows up,” the star told People about Milan.

“But when it comes to living, it’s all about the present,” she added. “I’m finally able to really savour all of those little moments that, in the early days of my career, I was too busy thinking about the next thing to just stop, take it all in, and enjoy.”
