Rebel Wilson announces birth of first child, Royce Lillian

The Australian actor announced overnight the birth of her first child. She said her daughter, via surrogate, was a “beautiful miracle”.

Australian actor Rebel Wilson has announced the birth of her first child.

Royce Lillian was born last week, Wilson said on Instagram early on Tuesday morning Australia time.

Her daughter was born by surrogate.

“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! Wilson said.

“I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), and this has been years in the making … but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.

“Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. The best gift!!”

Wilson said she was “ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable.”

“I am learning quickly … much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be in your club”.

Wilson also shared a photo from what appeared to be her baby shower.

‘Yes Rebz’

Well wishes from famous friends have been coming in via social media.

New Zealand actor and director Taika Waititi said “Yes Rebz, congrats xx”.

Actor Alison Brie sent her congratulations too with Melanie Griffith, replying on Instagram, sending a line of love hearts Wilson’s way.

Star film director Micheal Bay, who directed Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Transformers and has worked with Wilson said: “You teach her to be funny! Rebel you still are the funniest woman I’ve worked with! So happy for you and your new baby”.

Rebel engaged

It's been a busy few weeks for Wilson, family wise.

According to reports she is set to marry her girlfriend of seven months, Ramona Agruma.

The New York Post reported that the pair were “abuzz” about their engagement at a recent Halloween event, and sharing the news with fellow partygoers. “They were making out in a corner and telling everyone how excited they are to be engaged,” an insider told the publication.

The Bridesmaids and Pitch Perfect star previously dated billionaire businessman Jacob Busch for around a year, but the couple split in February 2021.

Wilson and Agruma have been together since at least March, when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty (but before their relationship was public knowledge).

Engagement rumours were sparked last month when the actor shared a loved-up Instagram post alongside her girlfriend, wearing what appeared to be a diamond ring.

The couple’s public “outing” came amid controversial circumstances, with Wilson revealing she was in her first same-sex relationship after the Sydney Morning Herald privately contacted her asking her to contribute to a story they planned to write about her new romance.
