Pierce Brosnan’s estranged son Christopher makes rare public appearance

Pierce Brosnan reportedly lost touch with his 46-year-old adopted son 15 years ago.

Pierce Brosnan’s estranged son Christopher has been spotted in London 15 years after being cut off by the actor over his drug habit.

The 46-year-old was on the phone and wearing three pairs of glasses as he crossed the road in Notting Hill.

He hasn’t spoken to his famous dad, 66, who adopted him in 1986, since he was cut off.

The British film producer has rarely been seen in public following his appearance on the 2005 season of Celebrity Love Island in the UK.

Christopher is the son of Pierce’s late first wife Cassandra Harris and her ex-husband Dermot who he raised as his own alongside his sibling Charlotte.

Cassandra died of ovarian cancer in 1991 when she was just 43 years old, with her daughter Charlotte, 41, tragically dying of the same disease in 2013.

Despite his troubles, Christopher was given the opportunity to work as an assistant director on Pierce’s films Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and The Thomas Crown Affair.

But after getting hooked on cocaine and heroin, Christopher’s life spiralled out of control.

In 1997 he was handed a three-month prison sentence for drink-driving.

In an interview with Playboy in 2005, Pierce revealed the pair were no longer in touch.

He said: “Christopher is still very lost. Shockingly so. I know where he is, but he’s having a hard life.

“I can only have strong faith and believe he will recover. He has tested everybody in this family but none more so than himself. He knows how to get out. He doesn’t want to.”

That year, Christopher starred on the original series of Love Island alongside Sophie Anderton, Paul Danan and Brendan Cole.

Meanwhile, his dad found happiness with Keely Shaye Smith who he married in 2001.

Following his first wife’s death, Pierce became a global acting legend with a plethora of crowd-pleasing roles including a seven-year stint as James Bond and starring opposite the late Robin Williams in Mrs. Doubtfire.

He is also dad to Sean, 33, a former actor and filmmaker, and Dylan, 20 and Paris, 18 — both models.

Sean, who is now studying to become a therapist, has also struggled with addiction, having opened up on a podcast earlier this year about how losing his mum and sister led him to drugs.

“I had tried to first get sober when I was about 25, maybe a little bit younger,” He told Barbara Van Dahlen on The Inner Space podcast.

“That was more of a cry for help. I had a couple suicide attempts but that was the first half-assed suicide attempt. I wanted help and I was once again in no man’s land.”

Last year, Pierce spoke candidly about the death of his wife and daughter, saying: “I don’t look at the cup as half full, believe me.

“The dark, melancholy Irish black dog sits beside me from time to time.”

Pierce now lives in Malibu with Keely after meeting on a Mexican beach back in 1994.
