Torn singer Natalie Imbruglia has announced the birth of her first child and revealed his name with a very cute photo.

Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia has announced the birth of her son and revealed his name with an adorable post on Instagram.

Imbruglia, 44, shared a photo of the baby’s tiny hand clutching her thumb, captioning it: “Welcome to the world … Max Valentine Imbruglia.”

She added: “My heart is bursting.”

The Torn singer and actress announced in July that she was pregnant with her first child with help from IVF and a sperm donor.

“For those of you who know me, this has been something I have wanted for a very long time,” Imbruglia wrote in an Instagram post.

“I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF and a sperm donor.”

Imbruglia stayed quiet about who the father is, stating: “I won’t be saying anything more on that publicly.”

She was previously married to Silverchair’s Daniel Johns from 2003 until 2008. It’s understood she split with her most recent partner, Matt Field, sometime last year.

Imbruglia has long made it clear that she’s keen to be a mum, telling The Evening Standard in 2015 that “it is something that is going to happen”.

She added: “I am still hopeful that I will meet someone. And yes, I may well look into other options (for babies) if I don’t.”
