Lara Worthington finally unveils name of third son

The notoriously private model has finally revealed the name of her third child after keeping it under wraps since giving birth last year.

Lara Worthington might have welcomed her third son last year, but until now, she’s kept his name a secret.

The model casually shared her son’s name in an interview with The Daily Telegraph on Monday as well as some details about parenting.

Worthington, whose last name was Bingle before she married her Avatar actor husband Sam, appear to have followed a theme with the little one’s name, revealed as River. He joins his two brothers – Rocket, five and Racer, four.

It’s not confirmed when the notoriously private couple welcomed River, but it’s thought he was born around March last year.

Worthington told the publication, “My whole schedule is based around my sons, and my husband Sam.” She went on to describe how different her life is now she’s a mum of three.

“Recently through the very wet period in Sydney, I did a shoot in between dropping and collecting my sons from school. Looking at the photos, you would never imagine the reality of my before and after. I love that no matter how glamorous my day can be, being a mother pulls me right back into my wild and wonderful reality,” she said.

In a rare move, Worthington recently shared an image of her youngest son River in the family home.

The photograph was captioned, “Good boy mum needs a little coffee” and showed River wearing a onsie reaching for the coffee machine.

The family-of-five, who have been living in the US, flew home to Australia earlier this year ahead of Sam taking on the lead role of Bo in the Sydney Theatre Company’s production of Appropriate.

Speaking to Stellar magazine in 2019, Lara said her ups and downs in the public eye here in Australia had taught her a valuable lesson.

“I’ve been through so many phases in my life and I’ve learnt that the people you surround yourself with are so important,” she said.

“Good people are my go-to. I’ve learnt that trusting people is imperative. I really value their opinions and take it all on board, and then develop my own thoughts and feelings.”

She said her move to the US is what helped her slide into a normal life – one her husband craved more than she did – but one she soon realised she needed.

“I don’t have to put on any facade with him, and moving to America has meant we’re able to live a really normal life. In fact, he’s more normal than me. He’s the guy from Perth who drinks milk before he goes to bed!” she told Stellar.
