SURELY this has to be a new low for Joan Rivers?

The acid-tounged Fashion Police host has ripped into Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's seven-month old daughter North, calling her "ugly" during her latest stand up show.

"That baby is ugly," the 80-year-old said during her show at Los Angeles Saban Theatre, "I've never seen a six-month-old so desperately in need of a waxing."

Rivers all but admitted to the comments when she took to Twitter today to defend the remarks as just a joke.

Also @radar_online, I'm a comic. Please stop pulling my jokes out of context. I love Kim, North and all the Kardashians. So shut up already!

Rivers' comments follow earlier allegations that Kardashian had in fact waxed the eyebrows of her baby daughter after posting a photo of the bub on Instagram.

The reality star was quick to defend herself on Twitter, saying she had never groomed her daughter.

"Do people really think I would wax my daughters eyebrows so young? Come on, I'd wait until she's at least 2 1/2!" she joked.

Looks like Rivers will definitely be off the Kardashian Khristmas card list this year.
