James Marsden offers parenting advice to The Notebook co-star Ryan Gosling
JAMES Marsden has dished out advice to new dad Ryan Gosling, which sounds more like a warning: ‘you’ll go sleep-deprived for months’.
JAMES Marsden first shared the big screen with Ryan Gosling back in 2004 in The Notebook. Ten years later and Marsden is sharing something a little more personal.
Marsden, 41, recently dished out parenting advice to the new dad.
James Marsden said “Make it through the first year! You’ll get your sleep eventually” he told Yahoo.
Ryan and his girlfriend Eva Mendes, who first started dating in 2011, welcomed their first child, Esmeralda into the world last month.
“You go through those sleep-deprived months where you don’t know who you are or where you are, or what’s happening. But just enjoy every second of it I guess,” he said.
However, the hunky star doesn’t think Gosling, 33, needs much advice from anyone because he believes he’s pretty clued up on what’s to expect as a father anyway.
“He’s a good man. He’s very intelligent and he seems very in tune with his young self.”
Marsden has had plenty of practice himself welcoming a baby with Brazilian model Rose Costa back in December 2012. He is also dad to Jack, 13 and Mary, eight who he had with ex-wife Linde.
The Hollywood dads also share a musical gift which Marsden showed off in Hairspray and suggested as a way for Ryan to bond with his daughter.
EVA MENDES AND RYAN GOSLING’S DAUGHTER ALREADY HAS TWITTER
“He’s a very talented musician and a very gifted guitar player and vocalist. He has a band [Dead Man’s Bones] and he sings with a children’s choir”
As for whether the two actors ever jammed together between scenes on the Notebook set back in 2004? Marsden revealed “We didn’t, but I would!”
