Cannon, 41, reflected on the last night he spent with his son Zen, who he shared with model Alyssa Scott.

The reality star told fans in a tearful reflection: “This weekend, you know I made a valid effort to spend the most quality time with Zen.

“We woke up on Sunday, got to spend the weekend with him. We woke up on Sunday and I was like, ‘I just feel like I want to go to the water,’” he said.

“We’re close to the ocean. And we kinda got a chance to go to the ocean.

“I wanted to make sure I allowed the sun to rise and kinda hold my son. Having the last … Holding my son for the last time,” he said while breaking down in tears.

“It was a beautiful setting. And even to spend that whole day was interesting. By the time I was in the car and headed to the airport I had to turn around,” he said, adding that he usually heads back to New York on Sunday evenings.

“Not only did we get to see the sunrise, but we also got to see the sunset too,” Cannon told fans.

Tragic announcement

On Tuesday, the All That alum shared on his talk show that Zen died from a brain tumour over the weekend.

He became emotional while telling fans: “Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus … brain cancer.

“It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it.”

Alyssa and Nick welcomed Zen on June 23 – Cannon’s seventh child.

When the newborn was about two months old, the TV star said they thought he had a sinus problem.

But after his head seemed to grow larger than usual they learned that fluid was building in his brain.

Doctors discovered he had a malignant brain tumour that required surgery immediately, and a shunt was placed to help drain out the fluid.

“We were hopeful, he was playing with his brothers and sisters,” Cannon said. “I embraced every moment.”

He praised Zen’s mum for being the “strongest woman ever seen” through it all.

“I gotta say thank you to my entire family but specifically to Alyssa,” he said, while thanking everyone for coming together during this difficult time.

Cannon said Zen was “loving and fun,” like all of his other kids, up until Thanksgiving when he took a turn for the worse.

“The tumour began to grow a lot faster,” he said, which is why he said he made sure to put a lot of effort into spending a lot of “quality time” with Zen.

He finished his message to viewers, sharing: “I’m feeling it. I’m vulnerable. I’m open. But I’m gonna make it through.

“And this is a special show, dedicated to my beautiful son Zen.”

A family in mourning

While mum Alyssa Scott hasn’t yet specifically mentioned the loss of her child, she’s been sharing photos and videos of him on her Instagram Story.

Cannon has two children with Mariah Carey; twins Morocco and Monroe.

He also has Golden, 4, and Powerful, 11 months, with Brittany Bell, and twins Zillion and Zion, five months, with Abby De La Rosa.
