Heidi Klum pays tribute to daughter in throwback Instagram post

Heidi Klum is taking a walk down memory lane as the model makes a big reveal about one of her iconic runway appearances, nearly 20 years ago.

Model and television judge Heidi Klum is throwing it right back in honour of her daughter, Leni’s 17th birthday.

In an Instagram post, the 47-year-old revealed that she was pregnant with Leni while walking down the famous Victoria’s Secret catwalk

Klum shared a video from the 2003 Victoria’s Secret runway show which shows Klum walking down the catwalk wearing one of brand’s signature lingerie designs.

The caption reads, “I am not alone walking down that catwalk here. If I look close enough then I can see you bumping right along at 4 months”.

The America’s Got Talent judge ended the caption with a sweet sentiment to her daughter Leni on her birthday, “I loved you before you were born, and I will love you long after I close my eyes forever.”

Klum gave birth to Leni in 2004, soon after her split from Italian businessman Flavio Briatore. Leni was later adopted by her now ex-husband Seal. The pair share four children together: Leni, Henry who is 15, Johan, 14 and 11-year-old Lou. In 2019, Klum married musician Tom Kaulitz.

Leni is following in her mother’s footsteps, with the duo appearing on the cover of Vogue Germany earlier this year.

She shared the cover to Instagram back in December with the caption “So excited for my first cover!! I had so much fun on set … couldn’t dream of a better start!!” She also thanked her mum for being by her side.

In the interview, the 17-year-old revealed she always wanted to be a model.

“It was only a matter of time before I would try to become a model myself. The first offer came when I was only 12 or 13, from a brand I liked to wear. Brandy Melville. At that time I begged my mother, but no chance. Now I understand that it would have been too early.”

Klum’s daughter also recently appeared on the cover of Glamour Germany. In a social media post, the model said gracing the cover was a “dream come true”.

Back in September last year the 17-year-old rising star made her runway debut, opening Berlin Fashion Week.
