‘Heaven’: Fixi Box gives birth — and lets daughter Trixie choose the name

An “emotional” Fifi Box has announced the birth of her second child — and revealed why she let daughter Trixie pick the baby’s name.

Radio host and TV personality Fifi Box has given birth to her second child, a daughter named Daisy Belle Box.

Box made the announcement on her FOX FM breakfast show this morning, phoning in to chat to co-hosts Brendan Fevola and Byron Cooke, as well as former Gogglebox star Yvie Jones, who is covering Box’s maternity leave.

Box wept as she confessed she was “really emotional … I’ve had a baby!”

“We’ve had a beautiful girl, and she’s just absolute heaven. Trixie and I are just deliriously, hopelessly in love with her,” she told her colleagues.

Trixie is Box’s six-year-old daughter with former ironman Grant Kenny. Box, 42, fell pregnant with Daisy after undergoing IVF with an anonymous sperm donor.

“She’s so good, she’s absolutely perfect,” she said of her newborn.

“She came out of my stomach literally screaming — she cried before she even came out. She’s got this thick thatch of hair … she’s just heaven, she’s such a little angel.”

And Box revealed she’s had to compete for the newborn’s attention with Trixie, who sounds absolutely smitten with her little sister.

“[Daisy] came into the world yesterday morning at about 8:30am, and I didn’t get to hold her again until about midday. Trixie held her for four hours and wouldn’t let her go,” she revealed.

Box said her older daughter even had the final say when it came to naming Daisy.

“I never had a say in the name. Daisy was on my list, but Trixie decided when she found out I was going to have a baby that it’d be called Daisy. I just let it go — then I realised that for seven months she’s been calling her little sister Daisy, and there’s no going back then.

“She’s named her little sister, which is really special.”

In an Instagram post earlier this year announcing her pregnancy, Box said she was “blessed” to be having a “much-wanted sibling” for her daughter.

“I know the value of this miracle because I have seen first hand the heartbreak, tears and sacrifices so many women and couples suffer on their IVF journeys and my heart goes out to those who are facing that pain and struggle,” Box wrote in her emotional post.

“It is not lost on me that I am one of the lucky ones.”
