An insider told the Daily Mail on Tuesday, “As soon as Gwyneth told Apple that Timothée is not only a producer but also the lead actor, she pleaded with her mum to accept.

Despite Chalamet inspiring her to return to the big screen, she previously told Entertainment Tonight that only one of her Iron Man co-stars could bring her back.

“Well, it would be very hard for me to do any acting right at the moment, just because of my job,” Paltrow said. “But, I guess Robert Downey Jr. could probably always get me back.”

“You know, to some degree,” she told the outlet.

When she first opened up about her planned hiatus in 2019, Paltrow admitted it was not her intention to walk away from her acting career altogether as she focused on her Goop empire.

“I’ve never said that I am quitting acting,” she said in a US Todayshow interview with Savannah Guthrie.

“What I say is Goop is my full-time passion, and being the founder and CEO of Goop is what I do all day every day, and occasionally when something is the right thing and it works out around my children and my Goop life, I’m able to participate.”

“I think I’m just not focused on full-time acting right now,” she added.
