Grimes gives baby X AE A-XXI a ‘Viking’ haircut: ‘Not sure this went well’
Grimes gave baby X AE A-XII, her first child with Elon Musk, his first haircut at home – and let’s just say it’s definitely unique.
Baby X AE A-XII just got his first haircut.
The curiously named infant’s mum, pop star Grimes, gave him an at-home trim and shared the results on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, reports Page Six.
“Not sure this haircut went well but he’s Viking now,” the Delete Forever singer captioned a shot of her 8-month-old baby boy, whom she shares with partner Elon Musk, sporting a new mohawk-style ‘do in the bathtub.
The musician, 32, also shared a snap of herself snipping away at her son’s locks with scissors, perhaps taken by 49-year-old Musk.

She clarified that the cut was inspired by the historical British TV series The Last Kingdom.
“Haircut inspired by the last kingdom on Netflix which is a masterpiece,” she wrote.
After sharing her baby boy’s new ‘do, some social media users questioned the safety of the practice while others were simply keen to ridicule the decision.

Grimes and Musk welcomed their first child in May 2020.
The power couple initially named the newborn “X Æ A-12 Musk” but were forced to change it to “X AE A-XII”, as special characters and numbers are prohibited by California law.
Grimes previously tweeted that the X is the “unknown variable” in algebra, while the Æ (now AE) refers to the “elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence).”
The A-12 (now A-XII) at the end was inspired by the Lockheed Archangel-12 aircraft.

As for how it’s pronounced?
“I mean it’s just X, the letter X,” Musk told podcast host Joe Rogan.
“And then, the Æ is, like, pronounced ‘Ash’ … and then, A-12, A-12 is my contribution.”
“My partner is the one that, actually, mostly, came up with the name,” the Tesla CEO added.
“Yeah, she’s great at names.”
