Brynne Edelsten pregnant with her first child, reality star announces
A joyful Brynne Edelsten has revealed she is pregnant with her first child at 38, sparking an absolute avalanche of congratulations.
Reality TV star and socialite Brynne Edelsten has announced she is pregnant with her first child.
A joyful Edelsten, 38, posted a photo of her ultrasound on Instagram and Facebook on Friday afternoon, hailing the news as a “miracle”.
“Miracles do happen,” she wrote, adding that each day was “another day closer to meeting the love of my life”.
The announcement sparked an avalanche of congratulations.
“This is such wonderful news to hear. Congratulations Brynne!” said former MAFS contestant Sarah Roza.
“Congrats Brynne!” said singer and TV presenter Erin Holland.
Edelsten did not mention the baby’s father, though in an interview with New Idea in March, the reality star said her boyfriend Brok Eastwood was “the one” and she hoped to have children with him.
“When I was with Geoff (her late ex-husband), the doctors said maybe I can have kids, maybe I can’t. Brok told me: ‘I really hope you can have kids,’” she said at the time.
“But at the same time, he said: ‘If you can’t, that’s OK too.’ If it happens, it happens, and I would love that more than anything.
“But to have that support of Brok saying, ‘If we can’t I still love you,’ well that’s pretty frickin’ good.”
Edelsten appeared on SAS Australia earlier this year. She quit voluntarily after six hours, but not before addressing her relationship with Geoffrey Edelsten, the controversial businessman who died in June.
“I am more than Geoffrey’s ex-wife,” she said.
“I’m not a gold digger. I can get through anything.”
In September, she told Stellar magazine that Melbourne’s Covid lockdowns in 2020 left her homeless and struggling.
“The reason it was really, really difficult was because I was in a relationship that wasn’t healthy,” said Edelsten.
Geoffrey Edelsten, who was 40 years older than Brynne, died in Melbourne on June 11.
