Bobbi Kristina Brown fighting for life as sources say drugs are involved
AS relatives hold a vigil at the bedside of Whitney Houston’s daughter, it has emerged that Bobbi Brown and “husband” Nick Gordon are not actually married.
AS devastated family members hold a vigil at the bedside of Whitney Houston’s daughter, it has emerged that Bobbi Kristina Brown and “husband” Nick Gordon are not actually married.
The relationship raised eyebrows when Brown announced to the world last January that they had wed as Gordon, a close family friend when she was growing up, was often described as Houston’s “adoptive son”.
A lawyer for the 21-year-old’s father. Bobby Brown, has released a statement denying the couple were ever married, People magazine reports.
Gordon found Bobbi Kristina found face-down and unconscious in a bathtub at their home in Georgia on Saturday.
TMZ is reporting that Bobbi Kristina has been moved to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, which is considreed one of the top facilities for neurological problems.
Earlier, Houston’s Bodyguard co-star Kevin Costner told of his sadness for Brown and her family.
“That family’s under a lot of stress right now, just an enormous amount of stress,” he said.
“I can’t imagine.”

BOBBI KRISTINA: Whitney Houston’s daughter in coma
Costner who spoke at Houston’s funeral three years ago admitted he hasn’t spoken to Brown in “a little while,” but that he wants nothing more than a speedy recovery for the young singer.
“I really hope she’s okay,” he said.
Costner’s comments come as Brown’s family confirmed that drugs were discovered in her home after she was found unconscious in the bath.
Family members told TMZ police found narcotics during a second, more thorough, search of Brown’s Georgia home. Police have not confirmed the find.
The news comes as police records reveal one of the men with Whitney Houston’s daughter on the day of her hospitalisation was previously charged with drug dealing.
Maxwell Byron Lomas, 24, was arrested on January 14 and charged with drug distribution, according to Fulton County Jail records obtained by FOX 5 News. He was later released on bond.
Police records show Lomas was at 21-year-old Brown’s home along with her husband, Nick Gordon, when they found Brown unconscious.
Lomas was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of Alprazolam — also known as Xanax — and possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies. He also reportedly had a history of offences.
Lomas and Gordon have reportedly been friends for the past two years.
Brown’s family previously revealed the young star was fighting for her life in hospital.
A family member on Whitney Houston’s side said in a statement to E! News: “Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honour our request for privacy during this difficult time.
“Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”
Brown was found unconscious in the bathtub of her home last week in eerily similar circumstances to that of her mother’s death.
She is in a medically induced coma with reports saying she has decreased brain function and chances of her surviving are slim.
Her father, Houston’s ex-husband Bobby Brown, is said to be by his daughter’s side and issued a statement:
“Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.”
In other unnerving coincidences related to Brown’s condition, it is almost the three-year anniversary of Whitney Houston’s death and Whitney, the controversial biopic that focused on Houston’s tumultuous relationship with Brown, premiered on January 17.
