BEN Fordham is officially a dad after he and wife Jodie Speers welcomed their first child, a son, into the world.

BEN Fordham is officially a dad after he and wife Jodie Speers welcomed their first child into the world.

The Nine Network’s Weekend TODAY program announced the news after hosts Deborah Knight and David Campbell received a text message this morning.

Fordham confirmed the arrival of his son Freddy moments later on Twitter saying: “My mum and dad are so happy they’ve been crying more than me!”

Fordham and Channel 7 journalist Speers wed at a laid-back and loving ceremony at the Sea Farm Estate on the Central Coast in 2011 after a three year courtship.

After leaving the TODAY show a fortnight ago to give himself more time to focus on his impending family, Fordham has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of his little one posting about his excitement on social media.
