Bella Cruise acknowledges mum Nicole Kidman with new fashion line

NICOLE Kidman and Tom Cruise’s daughter, Bella, has largely shunned the spotlight. However, she has now recognised her famous mum with a new business venture.

MANY find the relationship between Nicole Kidman and her adopted kids, Bella and Connor, a bit confusing.

Kidman was criticised for only acknowledging her younger children, Sunday Rose and Faith, when she won a Golden Globe in January for her role in Big Little Lies.

Bella and Connor, who lived with their dad, Tom Cruise, when he split from Kidman in 2001, are never seen with the Australian actress. She also wasn’t invited to Bella’s wedding in 2015 to Max Parker.

Both children are also Scientologists like their father, leaving some to speculate that their view their mother as a “suppressive person” or “SP” — a term used in the religion for someone who should be shunned.

Leah Remini in her book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology alleges she once asked Bella if she saw much of Kidman.

“Not if I have a choice. Our mum is a f**king SP,” she reportedly said, according to Remini.

Kidman also hinted in a 2007 interview that the relationship was somewhat strained.

“My kids don’t call me mummy, they don’t even call me mum. They call me Nicole, which I hate and tell them off for it,” she said.

However, Bella has shown that she has not totally distanced herself from Kidman as she launched her own clothing line, which she has called BKC — which stands for Bella Kidman Cruise. You can see her designs here.

Both Bella and Connor are usually referred to in the media with only the surname ‘Cruise’.

Bella recently launched her own website and is currently selling six T-shirts on the site, all priced at $85

The site says that it has long been a dream for Bella to put her art on clothing.

“Bella has been an artist her entire life. Her go-to medium is marker on paper with her inspiration for her artwork drawn largely from friends, fashion, and music,” the site says. “It has been a lifelong dream of Bella’s to put her art onto clothing; her brand new T-shirt collection is the first glimpse in the realisation of this dream, with many more to come in the near future.”

Kidman has long expressed her interest in fashion and is one of Hollywood’s fashion icons so it appears that she and her eldest daughter have that in common.

Kidman also recently described her performance in the movie Lion, where she plays the mother of an adopted boy, as a “love letter” to Bella and Connor.
