It is unclear what led to the medical emergency and whether it was related to his existing health issues which previously included cancer.

Tina Turner has released a brief statement about her son’s death via Instagram, writing: “Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son.”

Robbie’s death comes just four years after Turner’s eldest son Craig’s suicide.

Craig Raymond Turner died by suicide at his California home in 2018.

“I still don’t know what took him to the edge because at that stage he had said to me that he had never met a woman that he felt that way about,” Turner said later of her son’s death.

“He was bringing her to meet me [for] his birthday in August. He had decorated his apartment that I bought him years ago. He had gotten a new job with a prominent real estate company in California, [which] he was very happy with.”

And tributes today flooded in for his brother Ronnie, who made a name for himself in Hollywood playing a part in the 1992 biopic of his mother’s life, What’s Love Got To Do With It?

One fan wrote on Twitter: “My most sincere condolences to @tinaturner and @AfidaTurner … May Ronnie rest in peace.”

Another said: “My sincerest condolences to @tinaturner on the loss of her youngest son Ronnie Turner, just four years after losing her first son.”

A third added: “No parent should ever have to bury one of their children. Prayers sent for Tina and the rest of the family and friends.”

Tina was just 18 when she had Craig with Raymond Hill – who played the saxophone for the band Kings of Rhythm.

She later went on to marry Ike Turner, who adopted Craig after their marriage in 1962.

The Proud Mary singer gave birth to Ike’s child Ronnie in 1960.

The couple split in 1976 after Tina accused Ike of beating her up, with Ike dying of a drug overdose in 2007.
