Rapper Gangsta Boo dead at 43 years old

Rapper Gangsta Boo, who was in Three 6 Mafia and has collaborated with The Game and OutKast, has been found dead.

Three 6 Mafia’s Gangsta Boo has died. She was 43.

Born Lola Mitchell, the former rap group member’s death was confirmed by her label-mate DJ Paul K.O.M., who posted in tribute a photo of her DJ-ing, reported Page Six.

Her cause of death is unknown.

Tennessee media outlet Fox 13 reported that Mitchell was found dead Sunday afternoon around 4pm local time.

Paul’s Instagram post was flooded with condolences, with rapper 2 Chainz commenting, “Mannnn.”

Lil Jon added, “Man we was jus [sic] together 3 weeks ago. Rest well Quenn [sic].”

A rep for Mitchell didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The “Late Night Tip” rapper was the second female member of Three 6 Mafia, after K-9. Mitchell went on to release various solo albums in addition to appearing on the group’s first five studio releases.

After joining Three 6 Mafia in the 1990s, Mitchell left the group in the early 2000s to launch another solo album and numerous mixtapes. She was featured on songs from famous rappers including Gucci Mane, OutKast, The Game and more.

More recently, the Queen of Memphis began working with music outlets such as Uproxx to put out new music and performances. In early December, she shared a video of her live performance of “I’m Fresh” in partnership with the publication.

“#wassupmane Had fun doing this live session of “I’m Fresh” (produced by my brother @nickhook) at @uproxxmusic@uproxx S/O to the ppl behind the scenes that made this happen! #theBooPrint #BooRoxx #effortless,” she wrote alongside the video.

Just three days ago, the famed performer posted a goofy photo with her friend MJG, writing, “MJG over my erratic behaviour #pressure.”
