Michael Madsen looks dishevelled in his final photo taken just weeks before his sudden death at 67

Michael Madsen was seen looking “dishevelled” in the last photo taken of the Tarantino star before he was found dead aged 67.

Michael Madsen was seen looking dishevelled as he attended a fan event in the last photo taken of him before his death.

The prolific actor was snapped smiling in cowboy gear just a few weeks before he was found unresponsive in his Malibu home.

The Kill Bill star attended the Chiller Theater Expo in New Jersey back in April to greet fans, per The Sun.

The US actor, whose last several years have been marked by personal struggles, alleged spousal battery, and a tumultuous ongoing divorce, sat and greeted fans of his, signing cards and other memorabilia.

“Had a very nice time last night at Chiller,” one fan wrote on the Chiller Expo Facebook page.

“Highlight was meeting Michael Madsen … Very happy with the cards I got signed.”

Other fans shared their memorable moment meeting Madsen at the convention.

“Michael Madsen was the best guest of the entire weekend in my opinion,” one fan wrote in a separate post.

“He’s one very cool guy.”

However, under the post, fans mentioned Madsen’s noticeably unkempt appearance.

“I saw he didn’t look good,” one fan commented.

Madsen, 67, was found by police officers in his Malibu home Thursday morning after deputies responded to a 911 call.

The poet and frequent Tarantino star is believed to have died from natural causes, KNBC reported.

“In the last two years Michael Madsen has been doing some incredible work with independent film including upcoming feature films Resurrection Road, Concessions, and Cookbook for Southern Housewives, and was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life,” managers Susan Ferris and Ron Smith, and publicist Liz Rodriguez told KNBC.

“Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, who will be missed by many.

“Michael was also preparing to release a new book called Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems.

Madsen starred in box office hits such as Reservoir Dogs, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and The Hateful Eight.

“One of the discoveries in the movie is Madsen, who has done a lot of acting over the years … but here emerges with the kind of really menacing screen presence only a few actors achieve; he can hold his own with the fearsome Tierney, and reminds me a little of a very mean Robert De Niro,” infamous film critic Roger Ebert wrote in his review of Reservoir Dogs.

The actor was born in Chicago on September 25, 1957, and is related to Oscar-nominated actor Virginia Madsen.

Madsen’s death comes three years after his son, Hudson, died by suicide at the age of 26 in 2022.
