The acclaimed Friends actor, 54, was tragically found dead after reportedly drowning at a home in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, US time.

“Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I’m Mattman,” Perry wrote in his final message to fans.

According to TMZ, emergency services rushed to the address following a call, which was first reported as a cardiac arrest.

The publication added that no drugs were found at the scene and no foul play is suspected.

Sources told TMZ he had drowned in a hot tub, however others later came forward to claim Perry had come home sometime after a 2-hour round of pickleball, and that he “sent his assistant out on errand”.

“When the assistant returned about 2 hours later, he discovered Matthew unresponsive ... and called 911,” the publication wrote.

In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed, “We responded to the 1800 block of Blue Sail Rd for a death investigation on a male at 4:10 pm this afternoon.“He was in his 50s.”

The actor is most famous for his role as Chandler Bing on Friends, in which he appeared for its entire decade-long run from 1994 until 2004.

The series also starred Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow.

Throughout his career, Perry also appeared in numerous other TV shows including Boys Will Be Boys, Growing Pains, Ally McBeal, The West Wing and Scrubs, as well as in blockbuster films such as The Whole Nine Yards and 17 Again.

Perry had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, which he has been candid about since getting sober, opening up about his addictions in a memoir he published last year.
