Matthew Perry died ‘alone and desperate for love’, sources say, with actor wanting to become a husband and dad

Perry spent his entire life endlessly searching for romance only to feel “taken advantage of” whenever he came close to it.

Matthew Perry died desperate to fall in love and start a family, a source close to the late actor has claimed.

The beloved star never married despite several high-profile relationships during his lifetime. He dated stars including Julia Roberts and Lizzy Caplan, and he ended his engagement to Molly Hurwitz, a talent manager, in 2021.

An insider has claimed that Perry hadn’t given up hope of having a family, and had “dreamt” of meeting The One up until his untimely death.

“Matthew always dreamt of having the perfect family,” a source close to the star told DailyMail.com. “He wanted a wife, and at least a couple of kids. And he said he wouldn’t even mind marrying a woman who already had kids.”

Sadly for Perry, it’s thought he found himself regularly getting take advantage of by those he tried to woo.

“Lately the 54-year-old star has been looking for love again. But a string of failed relationships left him feeling sad and depressed, and as if he would never find that love he longed for,” continued the insider.

“Matthew dated dozens of women. But in the end, he always felt they were only interested in his money and his fame. And he was generous to a fault.

“He would shower women with gifts only to have them pack up their goodies and walk away. In the end I think his years of fighting demons, drugs and alcohol took a toll on him, and on his health, and eventually he would end up alone again.”

Despite his recent health struggles, Perry was still looking for love added the insider and was determined to find someone to spend the rest of his days with.

“All Matt ever wanted was to be happy,” added the source. “But he was always looking for love and happiness in all the wrong places. How sad that when he died he was reportedly alone.”

Meanwhile, the cause of Perry’s death currently still remains a mystery.

Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office is carrying out additional investigations before it reaches a conclusion, according to records from the agency.

Investigators are reportedly planning to use the toxicology reports to determine whether any substances may have contributed to Perry’s death.
