Euphoria star Angus Cloud dead at age 25
Angus Cloud, star of the hugely popular series Euphoria, has died aged 25 just weeks after the death of his father.
Actor Angus Cloud has died aged 25, with his family revealing the rising star had “intensely struggled” with the recent loss of his father.
Cloud, who shot to fame for his role as Fezco in the hit HBO series Euphoria, passed away in his family’s home in Oakland, California.
The actor’s family confirmed the shock news to TMZ, revealing he had attended his father’s funeral just a week before his own death.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” the family said in a statement.
“Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.
“Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
TMZ reported that Oakland Police and the fire department responded to an emergency call made at around 11.30am on Monday by Cloud’s mother.
His mum allegedly told the operator that he did not have a pulse, with the 25-year-old later being pronounced dead at the scene`.
A source close to the family told the publication that Cloud had been staying with his family in the wake of his father’s death as he tried to process his grief.
Cloud starred alongside Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney in seasons one and two of Euphoria, with his massive fan base hopeful he would return for the show’s third season.
His family has asked that the actor be remembered for his “humour, laughter and love for everyone”.
“We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss,” they said.
HBO, the network behind Euphoria, expressed its condolences to Cloud’s family, sharing a black and white photo of the 25-year-old to social media.
“We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family,” the network said.
“We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
While he was most well known for Euphoria, Cloud also starred in movies such as The Line and North Hollywood, with the young actor also appearing in music videos for artists like Becky G and Juice WRLD.
In an interview earlier this year, Cloud spoke about being discovered by a casting agent on the streets of Brooklyn.
Angus Cloud came into Euphoria with no acting experience and then effortlessly created the showâs most charming character. He had a long career ahead of him, but Fez alone will be an iconic character for generations. I hope heâs at peace now. pic.twitter.com/Gxp2ZSn3zA

He told i-D that at first he thought it was a “scam” but eventually ended up getting the agent’s phone number and giving them a chance.
This is how Cloud ended up going for a very secretive audition for Euphoria, claiming he wasn’t told anything about the show before the meeting.
“Then they brought me back in and they showed me the role, and it made more sense. Because in my mind I was like, they stopped me because I look like I could be a star? Then I’m like, no, it’s because I look like I could be a drug dealer,” he said.
Cloud said he was never striving to be “famous” like many other actors, instead saying the role of Fezco was “just too good of an opportunity to say no”.
“I had no idea it would go this far,” he said.
Cloud previously opened up about adapting to his new-found fame, telling In The Know in March 2022 that he had found it “annoying” that people were trying to find out so many details about his life.
“That was definitely something that I’m trying to figure out because, you know, I got a pretty tight-knit family and circle of friends and all that. I don’t need the world,” he said.
“I don’t want (everyone to) know my business, you know what I’m saying? That’s just for me. It’s kind of been annoying (with people) trying to do detective work on my whole life.
“I’m like, ‘Man, can you just stop?’ Like, let it be.”
