Bindi Irwin responds to brother’s adorable Father’s Day tribute
The youngest child of the Crocodile Hunter has shared a series of private home videos in his honour.
Bindi Irwin has sent a heartwarming message to her brother as they both honoured their dad Steve in Father’s Day tributes.
It’s the 17th anniversary of the beloved Australian TV personality and zookeeper Steve Irwin’s sudden death following a stingray encounter on September 4, 2006.
The two milestone events fall within days of each other each year.
Robert, 19 and Bindi, 25, both took a moment to share memories of their father to social media in honour of him.
Robert shared a series of private videos on Sunday alongside a caption admitting he has chosen to make it a “happy day”.
“Today is Father’s Day here in Australia,” he wrote in the Instagram post on Sunday.
“Days like this are filled with so many different emotions, but above all, I choose to make it a happy day to remember the best moments with the best dad.”
He also shared a couple of photos to his Instagram stories with the words: “With Father’s Day here in Australia – I’m sending my love to those who can’t celebrate with their dad. My heart is with you all.”
Robert was just two years old when his father died.
His sister took to the comments section, saying Steve would be so proud of her brother.
“Dad is SO. PROUD. OF. YOU,” she said.
“He’s always with us. Love you.”
Bindi shared a simple photo of her and her dad on Monday morning on the anniversary of his death, with just a red heart emoji in the caption.
