Authorities reveal Slash’s stepdaughter’s cause of death aged 25
Slash announced the sudden death of his 25-year-old stepdaughter last month, and now, her cause has been revealed.
Slash’s 25-year-old stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s cause of death has been disclosed.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist, 59, previously shared news of Knight’s death on social media in July, saying she had “passed peacefully” in Los Angeles, California.
The Los Angeles County’s medical examiner released a statement Thursday, local time, ruling Knight took her own life on July 19.
Slash, real name Saul Hudson, shared Knight with his current partner Meegan Hodges, whom he first dated briefly in 1989 before they reconnected in 2015 following the rocker’s divorce from Perla Ferrar.
He also is stepfather to Hodges’ other daughter, Scarlet Rae Knight.
The British-American rocker, who cancelled several shows after Knight’s death, shared a heartbreaking Instagram statement last month, saying his heart had been “permanently fractured”.
“I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been … & still are.
“The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally.”
Knight had seemingly scheduled a final post on Instagram prior to her death.
Three hours after Slash shared the news, a selfie was uploaded to Knight’s account with a heartbreaking message.
“Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity – I am sorry,” the post read.
“Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable. May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace.”
