UPDATE: The blonde beauty queen at the centre of the nine-hour standoff involving Chris Brown says the troubled singer pulled a gun on her after she touched his diamond cross necklace.

Her claims came as Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police said Brown, who has had numerous brushes with the law, was being transported to a police station to be booked on the assault charge.

Baylee Curran, an aspiring actress, told Melbourne radio station KIIS 101.1 she was at Brown’s Los Angeles mansion for a “go-see for music videos”.

“So I came in from the backyard and there was a man showcasing the jewellery and that’s when I was admiring one piece, it was a diamond cross necklace,” Curran told KIIS 101.1.

“That’s when Chris’s friend, or I don’t know who he was to Chris, noticed that I was looking at it, and warned me to step away, ‘don’t touch the diamonds, get the f--- outside’, started kinda nudging me in the shoulder to get back outside, and then that’s when Chris pulled a gun and said, ‘get the f--- out. Like, I’ve had enough of you girls, haven’t I told you girls enough’, and then that’s when I left.”

A frightened Curran — who was crowned Miss California Regional 2016 — then called 911, accusing Brown of threatening her with a gun in a booze and drug-fuelled rage.

Police said at a press conference that Brown surrendered about 1pm Tuesday (6am Wednesday AEST), and is co-operating with Los Angeles Police Department officers and investigators.

As police waited for a search warrant, Brown tossed a duffel bag containing at least one gun, other weapons and drugs from his window and shouted to cops “come and get me”, TMZ reported.

Curran told TMZ Live she and her friend had been using Brown’s hot tub before she walked back to the house.

She said one of Brown’s friends was showing off a piece of jewellery.

Curran claims that when she began to admire it, the men “went nuts” before Brown pointed a gun at her and told her to “get the f*** out”. She said the Loyal singer appeared to be “on drugs or alcohol”.

The beauty queen said she and her friend fled, but not before Brown’s entourage demanded she sign a non-disclosure statement. She refused.

Meanwhile, the father-of-one posted a least three online videos declaring his innocence and dismissing TV reports that he was barricaded inside.

“I don’t care. Y’all gonna stop playing with me like I’m the villain out here, like I’m going crazy,” Brown said in one Instagram video, waving a cigarette and looking at the camera.

“When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing. You idiots.”

Musician Ray J, best known for his sex tape with Kim Kardashian, shared a video on his Instagram discussing what went down at Brown’s pad.

“Yo it’s Ray J, check it out. I’m real upset about today,” he said.

“I’m not happy with how things are handled and how people can take a false story and blow it up into something way more than what it should be. You got just positive people around and you look outside and it’s like a war zone for no reason.

“For somebody some what stranger said about something that don’t got nothing to do with nothing and to react like that so fast without knowing the facts and knowing what’s up ain’t cool. It’s just not right, it shouldn’t be like this. I support the homie Chris, I support the whole movement.

“I’m here and again, man s*** got to change, it can’t be like this every time somebody yippity yap (sic) trying to get an extra buck and it turns around and it’s all bad on us. It ain’t cool.”

Brown, who won a Grammy for his 2011 album F.A.M.E., has been in repeated legal trouble since his felony conviction in the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna. After several missteps, he completed his probation in that case last year.

In 2013, Brown struck a man outside a Washington hotel and was charged with misdemeanour assault.

The singer was ordered into rehab but was dismissed from the facility for violating its rules. He spent two and a half months in custody, with US marshals shuttling him between Los Angeles and the nation’s capital for court hearings.

In another incident while in treatment, Brown allegedly threw a brick at his mother’s car following a counselling session. This was after Brown had completed court-ordered anger management classes.

In January, a Las Vegas woman alleged that Brown hit her and took her mobile phone. Police investigated but did not find evidence to file charges.
